Jackson Taylor was involved in a horrific car crash, where his head was separated from his body, after the car he was in collided with another going at 70mph.

The 16-month-old was then rushed to the hospital, where spinal surgeon Dr Geoff Askin was tasked with saving his life.

Dr Askin and his team managed to reattach the head in an incredible surgery, lasting six hours.

Dr Askin claimed:

A lot of children wouldn’t survive that injury in the first place, and if they did and they were resuscitated then they may never move or breathe again.

Jackson now has to wear headgear to keep his body in place, with his family calling it a ‘halo’.

The halo is set to come off in eight weeks, after the healing process is complete, showing just how incredible modern medicine can be.

Thankfully, he is expected to make a full recovery.
